Christians from different churches in Otley are meeting at the United Reformed Church, Manor Room for a light lunch followed by a talk and discussion. The topic is the proposal for a Youth and Community Hub based in the former Salvation Army Hall. All are welcome.

The Saturday evening event will include the club’s annual competition winners’ presentaions by award-winning photographer, Rais Hasan. Tickets for this event are available from info@otleycameraclub.co.uk or dianemurrell@aol.com

Otley Parish Church is holding the Flower Festival between Friday 28th and Sunday 30th June, with a preview evening at 7pm to 9pm on Thursday 27th June. There will be flower arrangements by local residents, businesses and organisations, all created as an exploration of of the “I AM” sayings of Jesus.
Entry to the main festival is free, but donations will be much appreciated. Each day, tea coffee and light refreshments will be available to buy in the cafe. There will be a well-stocked plant stall, beautiful hand made cards and a themed bookstall by Cornerstone of Skipton.
As well as enjoying the floral arrangements, guests at the preview evening can enjoy music by local artists and partake of wine or soft drinks and canapés. Tickets for this are £5 and available from the church office on 01943 465927, by email to info@otleyparishchurch.org

The Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust will be giving a talk about natural flood management (NFM) and the Wharfedale Connecting Communities Project. They are starting to connect communities who have flooded or are at flood risk with the farming community locally and at the top of the River Wharfe, where we are working with natural processes to reduce flood risk.
Refreshments and cake will be provided!

As part of the national Heritage Open Days, the church – the oldest building in Otley – will be open with special displays.
- Saxon Cross sections can be viewed on request
- History Trails for all ages
- Visit the impressive Navvies’ Memorial in the churchyard*
- Climb the tower – as far as the Bell Chamber – 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm. (Tower also open Sunday 15th from 2pm to 4pm with basic refreshments available)
- Guided church tour: ‘A walk through time’ at 11am
- Talk: ‘Mysteries of the Memorials’ at 2pm
- Light refreshments available throughout the day

This free event is in celebration of 20 years of ‘Open the Book’. Bob Hartman is a storyteller and author of the Lion Storyteller Bible. Experience for yourself, Bob’s wonderful storytelling talent, hearing first-hand from the author behind the ‘Open the Book’ stories.

This is the day Otley takes to the streets to enjoy the annual Victorian Fayre. From 1.30pm to 4pm there will be a Cafe in the Parish Room. From 3pm the church choir will be singing Christmas Songs and Carols in the church. All welcome.
