The Brighouse and Rastrick Band are winners of the 2017 National Champion Band of Great Britain and is regarded by many as the best and most consistent ‘public subscription band’ in the world. In its time the majority of premier band championships have been held by ‘Briggus’ whilst the band has also attracted a formidable reputation for highly entertaining concerts for both the general public and brass band connoisseur. Otley Parish Church is delighted to welcome them back to Otley following their sell-out concert last year. More information about the band here

Otley Choral Society are busy rehearsing for their performance of Handel’s Messiah, along with their sister choir, Ilkley Choral Society. The choirs will be accompanied by the excellent Yorkshire Chamber Ensemble, with soloists from the Royal Northern College. This year though, the choirs will be conducted and trained by the enthusiastic and dynamic choral conductor Tom Newall as Yonni Levy (Their usual conductor, has been offered a temporary contract working in Beverly Hills, USA!!) Tom is a very experienced conductor who has worked with the choirs before and whilst he is a Lancastrian he is looking forward to a true Yorkshire performance of such a special work.
Tickets (£15 for adults – students and children are free) have been selling fast and are available from Brown’s Gallery or from members of the choir.
