Adrian Plass is a well-known British author and speaker who writes primarily Christian humour, but also short stories, Bible Commentaries and novels with a more serious tone.
His most popular books are a series concerning The Sacred Diary of Adrian Plass which is a humorous, fictional satire of Christian life and which has sold over a million copies worldwide.
Adrian says about this show: “In 2018 we shall be celebrating three decades of writing and performing with our show ‘OUT OF HIS HEAD’, featuring my wife Bridget and myself, together with Searchlight Theatre Company, the brilliant David Robinson and Michael Taylor. The show will include readings, poetry and dramatisations from many of the books that have appeared since those early days, including a newly published novel, THE SHADOW DOCTOR, exploring new perspectives on the ingenious working of the Holy Spirit in ordinary people’s lives. In many ways this encapsulates my own journey (and that of many others) from a superficial and ultimately disappointing experience of faith, to a new and hard-won understanding of what it might mean to follow Jesus. Lots of memories. Lots of laughs. Lots of chat. Lots to think about.”
The event is sponsored by World Vision and there will be an appeal on their behalf before the interval.
Tickets: £8 in advance; £10 on the door. Available from Otley Parish Church Office 01943 465927 or email info@otleyparishchurch.org

Tickets are £8 (£4 concessions): Available from choir members and at Otley Courthouse or on-line (subject to a small booking fee) at the link above.
Singing for the Brain uses singing to bring people together in a friendly and stimulating social environment. Singing is not only an enjoyable activity, it can also provide a way for all sorts of people – people with dementia and their carers, people who have suffered brain injuries, anyone experiencing memory loss, people who just want to keep their brains active – to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group. Hidden in the fun are activities which build on the well-preserved memory for song and music in the brain. Even when many memories are hard to retrieve, music is especially easy to recall. Sessions take place at Otley Courthouse on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month from 2-4pm.
Otley Singers Community Choir sing primarily for pleasure, though occasionally perform in concert.
